Bangladesh Institute of Philatelic Studies

Bangladesh Institute of Philatelic Studies (BIPS) was established in Dhaka in 1988 to encourage people for collecting postage stamps to use those as supplementary materials for enriching knowledge on history, culture and human activities. Siddique Mahmudar Rahman was the founder-director of BIPS. The prime objective of this organisation was to encourage exchange of postal stamps as well as other education materials like books, journals, audio-visual equipment and catalogue among the collectors worldwide.

BIPS has published a number of research-oriented books and e-books on philately. Those are: Bangladesh Stamps and Postal History (1988), Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore through Philately (1990), Bangladesher Dak-Babostha (in Bengali, 1995), Bangladesh Postage Stamps (in CD, 2003) and Postage Stamps of Bangladesh 2006 (in CD, 2007).
