Satsanga

Satsanga a socio-religious welfare organisation founded by Thakur anukulchandra (1888-1969) in 1946. Its central ashrama is located at Himayetpur, pabna, the birthplace of Anukul Chandra, who lived there for 58 years. Anukul Chandra started the Satsabga in the belief that true welfare lies in nourishing the feelings of humanity. The organisation aims to help people develop mentally and spiritually. The Satsanga was open to all people, irrespective of caste and creed.

Anukulchandra's mother, Manomohini Devi, was the first president of the Satsanga Council. A number of institutions were set up by the organisation, including Tapovana, Manomohini College of Science and Technology, Vishva Bijnan Kendra (World Science Centre), Satsanga Chemical Works, Mechanical Engineering Workshop, Satsanga Press and Publishing House, Satsanga Charitable Dispensary, Art Centre, Maternity Centre, Cottage Industrial Centre, Satsanga Agricultural Farm.

Renowned political leaders such as Deshbandhu Chitta Ranjan Das, Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji subhas chandra bose, ak fazlul huq, visited the Satsanga and praised its activities.
