Comilla University a public university established under the Parliament Act No. 17 of 2006. This university is located near the archaeological site of mainamati shalvan vihara and Lalmai Hill in Comilla city.
Currently, Comilla University has four faculties with fourteen departments. The departments are Bangla, English, Economics, Public Administration, Anthropology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Management, Accounting and Information System, Marketing, Computer Science and Engineering, Information and Computer Technology and Statistics. The faculties are Arts and Humanities, faculty of Science, faculty of Business Studies and Social Science.
