Dwija Bansidas
'Dwija Bansidas (16th/17th century) manasamangal poet and singer, born in the village of Patuari in kishoreganj. His father, Jadavananda, was a singer and his daughter, chandravati, was a poet who wrote a version of the ramayana. From the riddles Bansidas wrote in connection with his autobiography, it appears that he wrote about 1497 shakabda (1575-76 AD). However, his use of words such as 'magh-firibgi';, 'banduk-palita'; etc suggest that he lived in the seventeenth century. It is possible that these words are later interpolations. He also wrote R'a'mag'i't'a and, in Sanskrit, Krsnagunarnava. [Khandker Muzammil Haq] '''' [Haq, Khandker Muzammil Department of Bangla, Jahangirnagar University]
