Chorus or v'r'ind'a' giti in Babgla is a popular form of group song. In ancient India this genre seemed to have been popular. In the Vedic age hermits used to chant hymns from the Sama Veda in groups. Groups of court singers would also sing praises of the king.

The term originates from the Choros of ancient Greek drama where it applied to the players who sang and danced in groups. In later European drama, the Chorus came to mean a single player who introduced or commented on the action of the play.

In music, the term is used for a group of singers as well as to the refrain sung by a group of singers. The term is used in Bangladesh to refer to songs sung by groups. Chorus songs are usually patriotic in theme. A good chorus song requires harmony along with melody. [Mobarak Hossain Khan] [Khan, Mobarak Hossain former DG, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy]
