Ahmad, Emaduddin (1875-1936) was a political personality with social consciousness. He was born at Rajarampur in Chanpainawabganj. Emaduddin passed the Entrance Examination from Rajshahi Collegiate School, FA and BA from Rajshahi College and obtained BL degree from Calcutta University. He joined legal practice in the judges'; court of Rajshahi. With a vow to serving the cause of the people, he discharged the responsibility of the Secretary of 'Rajshahi Mohammedan Association';, established in 1884.


Emaduddin Ahmad was elected the chairman of the Rajshahi District Board for two consecutive terms in 1920 and 1926. He was awarded the title of 'Khan Bahadur'; in 1922. As the elected chairman of the Rajshahi Municipal Corporation from 1922 to 1926, he vastly improved the condition of the municipal area. He was instrumental in the establishment of the 'Rajshahi Girls'; Madrasa'; (later high school) in 1927. He was elected as a Member of the bengal legislative council in 1930.
