Ahmed, Sultanuddin2
Ahmed, Sultanuddin2 (1935-1971) engineer, educationist, and a martyr in the war of liberation. Sultanuddin Ahmed was born in 1935 at village Sarkarpara in Brahmanbaria district. He passed Matriculation examination from Chandpur High School in 1950, ISc from Dhaka College in 1952 and obtained his BSc Engineering (Civil) degree from the Dhaka Ahsanullah Engineering College in 1959. Subsequently he obtained MS degree in Technical Education in 1968 from the Oklahama State University of USA.
Sultanuddin Ahmed began his career in education service as an Instructor (Civil) of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute in 1959. In 1965 he was elevated to the position of Principal and was posted in Faridpur Technical Institute. While the Principal of Faridpur Technical Institute he went to USA for higher studies in 1967. On his return from USA he joined the Jessore Polytechnic Institute as Principal in March 1968, and continued to serve there till his death. A group of Pakistan occupation army swarmed into his residence on 5 April 1971 and ruthlessly killed him along with the young male members of his family.
