Tarkavagish, Annadacharan
Tarkavagish, Annadacharan (1875-1943) Sanskrit scholar, versed in nyaya. He was born in the village of Mulgaon, in the Idilpur Pargana of faridpur. His Father Prasannachandra Vattacharya was a Sanskrit scholar. Annadacharan studied the various sh'a'stras under famous scholars of Faridpur, Benares, Burdwan, and Nabadwip. He was conferred the title of 'Vyakaranatirtha'; in the Up'a'dhi Examination of Kal'a'pa, the title of 'Tarkaratna'; by bangabibudhajanani sabha of Nabadwip, and that of 'Tarkavagish'; from Benares. After studying S'a'ngkhya and Ved'a'nta with Mahamahopadhyay Subrahmanya Shastri, he established a Sanskrit college at Bangalitola in Benares, where he taught from 1896 to 1907. Afterwards, he established another Sanskrit college in his own village. He was the life-long Secretary of Idilpur Hitaisini Sabha from 1918. He wrote Prabh'a, a commentary on Vyaptivadanyaya';s Vyadhikara'n'a and Vy'a'ptyanugama. He died on 19 October in 1943.
