Dalalpur Bridge
Dalalpur Bridge a fine old bridge that spans the Pankhiraj Kh'a'l (canal) on the northern side of Panamnagar in Sonargaon over which the road goes to the company kuthi at Dalalpur. The bridge consists of three arches, the middle arch being wider and higher providing easy passage of boats underneath. The pathway of the bridge is made of bricks set in circular rows of about five feet in diameter. From the centre the surface slopes down steeply on either side. Cunningham reports (1879-1880) of two gate pillars of brick inside the bridge, with a single black stone carved with flowers as a step. In consideration of architectural style, the bridge is suggested to have been built in the Mughal period.
