Shingra
Shingra a small evergreen plant with compound leaves, Cynometra remiflora of family Leguminosae. Flowers are small and white in colour, usually bloom in January. Fruits are pods 1.2 to 2.5 cm, spiral and curly in shape containing only a single seed. The bark of the tree is smooth and gray in colour. The plant is found to grow in the mangrove forest of the Sundarbans and Chakaria. Wood is strong and durable and thus used as household poles. It is also used as firewood and component of the chips of hardboards. [Abdul Khair]
