Action-Aid Bangladesh

Action-Aid Bangladesh a UK-based international development agency was formed in 1983. Its prime objective is to supplement the poverty alleviation efforts of Bangladesh. Action-Aid formulates its plan and programmes to establish society, which will have equal opportunities for poor and marginal people, women, children, aborigines, disabled and HIV/AIDS patients.

The organisation beginning its programme in Bangladesh under the banner 'For Those Who Have Less' was later was renamed as Action-Aid from the inception, it took long-term development programmes called Development Area (DA) programmes. So far, Action Aid has undertaken 37 DA programmes. About one hundred organisations have been working as development partners of Action Aid. [Farah Kabir]
