Chakraborty, Yogindra Chandra (1865-1940) lawyer, politician. He was born in 1865 at village Rajarampur in Dinajpur district. His father Girish Chandra Chakraborty was a lawyer. Yogindra Chandra passed Entrance examination from Dinajpur Zilla School in 1882. He obtained MA and BL degree from Calcutta University. He joined Dinajpur district bar in 1889.

Yogindra Chandra Chakraborty joined Indian National Congress in 1890 and was elected the general secretary of the Dinajpur district unit of the Party. Later he became the president of the Dinajpur district unit. In 1919 he was elected chairman of Dinajpur Municipality. He was again elected chairman of the Municipality in 1928 and continued in the position till 1939. Yogindra Chandra Chakraborty took active part in all the anti British movements. He had pioneering role in the movement during the Partition of Bengal in 1905 and in Non-Cooperation Movement of 1921-1922.

Yogindra Chandra Chakraborty was a patron of literature and culture. He was the secretary of reception committee of the sixth North Bengal Literary Conference held in Dinajpur in 1913. He was the editor of the newspaper Dinajpur (1885). Besides, he was associated with a number of organisations including Dinajpur Samiti, Late Maharaja Girijanath Memorial Committee (1924), Dinajpur National School Foundation Committee (1932), Khwaja Nazimuddin Muslim Hall and Library (1935-1940).
