Kamalnagar Upazila

Kamalnagar Upazila (lakshmipur district) area 144.28 sq km, located in between 90°45' and 90°59' north latitudes and in between 22°39' and 22°51' east longitudes. It is bounded by lakshmipur sadar upazila on the north, ramgati upazila on the south, noakhali sadar and subarna char upazila on the east and daulatkhan upazila on the west.

Population 164201male 84486, female 79715; Muslim 160937, Hindu 3251 and others 13.

Water bodies Main river: meghna.

Administration Kamalnagar upazila was formed on 20 June 2006.

Hats, bazars and fairs Hats and bazars are 5, most noted of which are Ludhua Bazar, Hajirhat, Char Lawrence Bazar and Torabganj Hat.

Main export Hilsa fish.

Natural disasters About 70 persons were victims of small pox and cholera disease in 1957. Besides, a few thousand people were victims of flood occurred in 1970.
