Kavitakusumavali the first poetry magazine published from dhaka, in Jyaistha 1267 (May 1860). Its first editor was krishna chandra majumder, who was assisted by Harishchandra Mitra and Prasannakumar Sen. The magazine was priced at one and a half annas. The first two issues consisted of eight pages; the third issue consisted of 16 pages and the twelfth of 172 pages.

The aim of the magazine was to improve Bangla poetry and educate people while also entertaining them. Initially, only poems were printed, but prose was subsequently included. The magazine, which lasted for about twelve years, had around 400 subscribers. [Muntassir Mamoon]
