Khalishpur Thana (Khulna metropolitan) area 12.35 sq km, located in between 22°50' and 22°52' north latitudes and in between 89°31' and 89°34' east longitudes. It is bounded by daulatpur (khulna) thana and dighalia upazila on the north, sonadanga and 'kotwali thanas and dumuria upazila on the south, rupsa and Dighalia upazilas on the east, Dumuria upazila and Daulatpur thana on the west.

Population 235018; male 128474, female 106544; Muslim 222503, Hindu 9171, Buddhist 3237, Christian 91 and others 16.

Water bodies Main river: rupsa.

Administration Khalishpur Thana was formed in 1986.

Archaeological heritage and relic House of Mahim Das, Khalishpur Sattya Asram.

History of the War of Liberation A battle was fought in the area adjacent to Baikali Cinema Hall and Boyra Girl's College in 1971 in which some members of the Pak army and a number of freedom fighters were killed. Besides the massacre in the house of Munshi Siddiqur Rahman by the Pak army ruthlessly killed 13 persons. This was popularly known as the 'Tragedy of Munshi House'.
