Mangalkot1 archaeological site located in village Chingaspur, about 1 km west of mahasthan (Bogra district). This Mangalkot (25m ' 100 m in area) has yielded remains of archaeological importance. Excavations (1981-83) at the site revealed the remains of a very small temple complex of the medieval period.

Large quantities of terracotta figures of the Kusana-Gupta affiliation are among the most interesting finds. Most of the images are of females wearing elaborate headdresses and jewelleries with serpent hoods on their heads. The images were found heaped on the site over which the temple was built in a later period. The site has not yet been fully exposed. [Shafiqul Alam]
