Mymensingh Medical College

Mymensingh Medical College a public medical college situated at Charpara on the eastern part of Mymensingh town and beside the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. Affiliated with the Dhaka University, this medical college is approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh and recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council and the General Medical Council of United Kingdom.

The Lytton Medical School established in 1924 was upgraded in 1962 with the new name Mymensingh Medical College. The College was shifted to its present location in 1972. The college now offers MBBS course and some other postgraduate courses. There is a nursing institute attached to the college and a hospital with 500 beds for the patients. The overall management of the college is vested with the Principal, and the hospital is administered by a Director. [MKI Quayyum Choudhury]
