Paril Bartabaha, The

Paril Bartabaha, The a fortnightly Bangla newspaper published from village Paril Nauhadda, now in Singair upazila of Manikganj district. It was edited by Maulvi Anisuddin Ahmed, printed at a printing press in Dhaka, and was published by the editor himself from his native village Paril. The newspaper was first published' in 1874 AD, and continued for a couple of years. In addition to news and features of various dimension, the paper primarily preached morality and value of life. The Paril Bartabaha (Messenger from Paril) was the first newspaper from East Bengal edited by a Muslim. [Muazzam Hussain Khan]
