Tarikh-i-Shahi an important historical literature produced in Persian language, is a history of the Afghan sultanate both in Delhi and Bengal. In the Tarikh-i-Shahi there are many facts recorded about the Afghan kings, which are not available in other books.

The title of the book is Tarikh-i-Salatin-i-Afghana (or the history of the Afghan sultans). It was written by Ahmed Yadgar, an Afghan author in the years 1572-76 AD by order of daud khan karrani. The Asiatic Society of Bengal, Calcutta, published the text of the book under the title Tarikh-i-Shahi. [Abdul Karim]
