Besides Bangla, Abdul Hakim knew Arabic, Persian and Sanskrit. Thus he had access to Persian texts as well as Sanskrit classics like &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[ramayana]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[mahabharata]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, etc. His writings include &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[yusuf-zulekha]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;,&amp;#039;&amp;#039; [[nurnama]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;,&amp;#039;&amp;#039; Durre Majlish&amp;#039;&amp;#039;,&amp;#039;&amp;#039; Lalmoti Saifulmulk &amp;#039;&amp;#039;and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Hanifar Ladai&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Yusuf Zulekha&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is a translation of the Persian romance &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Yusuf Wa Zulekha&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (1483 AD). &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Nurnama &amp;#039;&amp;#039;and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Durre Majlish&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, a book of moral instructions, are also translations from the Persian. &lt;br /&gt;
