He was born in Barashalghar village under Debidwar Upazila of Comilla district in 1891. He graduated from the [[university of calcutta]] in 1919 with Honours in English. He took his BL degree from Dhaka University and joined the Comilla bar to practice Law. During this time he came into contact with celebrities like [[ak fazlul huq]] and Abdul Kashem and his political career started. &lt;br /&gt;

In 1933 Mafizuddin Ahmad involved himself in active politics and joined the [[muslim league]]. Soon he was elected General Secretary of Tripura district Muslim League. In 1938 he became a member of the Bengal Legislative Assembly and was appointed parliamentary secretary for education. In 1946 he was again elected to the Bengal Legislative Assembly. After the establishment of Pakistan, he became Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation, Registration and Prisons in East Pakistan. In 1954 he was appointed member of the Pakistan Planning Commission. From 1962 to 1965 he was Minister for Education in East Pakistan. &lt;br /&gt;
