From this University he obtained Doctorate of Education in 1969. After his return from USA Sadat Ali joined his post in the Institute of Education and Research. He was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor in 1969. Sadat Ali had been the chairman of the Department of Business Administration in Education and Research Institute from 1969 to 1971. He was the House Tutor of the then Jinnah Hall (present Masterda Surya Sen Hall) of Dhaka University.
