	'''Bangladesh Tea Board''' is an organisation, made up for the purpose of making laws, controlling over tea and encouraging plantation of [[tea]]. The board was constituted in accordance with the Tea Ordinance of 1977. This organisation has been constituted not only for the production and auction of tea, but also to improve to the standard of lifestyles of tea farmers and labors associated with tea-gardens. During British era, the tea plantation in this subcontinent was regulated in accordance with the Indian Tea Estate Act, 1903; later, during Pakistan era, in 1951, Pakistan Tea Board was set up consisted of 11 members in accordance with the Tea Act, 1950. As soon as Bangladesh got independence and the Tea Ordinance was promulgated in 1977, the Bangladesh Tea Board was established. At its initial level, there were three full time members along with an adviser and being amended to the Tea Ordinance, the number of member was increased by 111 in 1986. As per decorum, the Chairman, 2 (two) fulltime members, 1 (one) Secretary and 1 (0ne) Deputy-Secretary are appointed by the Government and other members, officers and employees are appointed by the Board. The Head Office of the board had been in Dhaka and presently it is situated at Nasirabad upazilla in the district of Chittagong. The Tea Research Institute under Bangladesh Tea Board conducts technical and economic research associated with tea industries.
