Originating at [[Charghat Upazila|charghat]] upazila of [[Rajshahi Division|rajshahi]] district, the Baral flows through [[Natore District|natore]] and [[Pabna District|pabna]] and finally meets with the [[Hurasagar River|hurasagar]] after joining with the [[Karatoya River|karatoya]] south of [[Shahjadpur Upazila|shahjadpur]]. The total length of the river is 147 km, average width is 125m and average depth is about 6m. The river receives water from the Ganges only in the [[Monsoon|monsoon]] season. But it maintains its flow throughout the year with local [[Runoff Water|runoff water]] and water from [[Chalan Beel|chalan beel]]. Its drainage area is about 230 sq km.
