&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Khadim, Ataur Rahman Khan&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (1933-1971) educationist, martyr intellectual. He was born in 1933 at village Kharampur in Akhaura thana of Brahmanbaria district. His father Daulat Ahmad Khan Khadim was a lawyer in Dhaka High Court and his mother was Anjumannesa Khatun. Ataur Rahman passed Matriculation examination in 1948 from George H. E School in Brahmanbaria and I.Sc from Dhaka College in 1950. He obtained B.Sc (Hons) in Physics from Dhaka University in 1953 and M.Sc in 1954.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ataur Rahman Khan started his professional career in 1955 as an electrical engineer in Philips Electric Company. Later he studied as a researcher in the Theoretical Physics Institute at Getingen in West Germany (1959-60). On his return from Germany he joined as a research fellow in the Department of Physics in Dhaka University. He joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Physics in Dhaka University in 1965. Ataur Rahman was a specialist in Experimental Physics specially in Electronics.    &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
On the night of 25 March 1971, the Pak army killed him at the teachers&amp;#039; quarters of Shahidullah Hall of Dhaka University. [Abu Md. Delwar Hossain]&lt;br /&gt;
