 &amp;lt;p class=Normal &amp;gt;In 1920, Meherbanu sent two of her paintings to the monthly [[moslem bharat]] in Kolkata. [[kazi nazrul islam]] was inspired by one of the paintings and wrote the poem &amp;#039;Kheyaparer Tarani&amp;#039;; on it. Nazrul&amp;#039;;s poem and Meherbanu&amp;#039;;s painting were published in the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Shravan&amp;#039;&amp;#039; 1327 BS (July-August 1920) issue of the journal. This was the first painting to be published by a Bengali Muslim woman. &lt;br /&gt;

 &amp;lt;p class=Normal &amp;gt;To promote women&amp;#039;;s education, Meherbanu, in association with her two sisters Paribanu and Akhtarbanu, established Kamrunnessa Girls&amp;#039;; High School in Dhaka, naming it after their mother. She also patronised the monthly Urdu literary magazine &amp;#039;&amp;#039;J&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;du&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.
