[[De, Chandra Kumar|chandra kumar de]] collected this gitika from Baniachang in [[Habiganj District|habiganj]]. This poem is also known as Abang Dulal in Sylhet and Comilla. On the basis of the poet&amp;#039;s use of Arabic and Persian words and the context of events, it is assumed that the poem was composed in the late 18th century.&lt;br /&gt;

Mansur Bayati was a very powerful folk poet, and especially skillful in creating tragic stories. Dewana Madina was translated into English and included in [[Gupta, Dinesh Chandra|dinesh chandra sen]]&amp;#039;s Eastern Bengal Ballads. [Ali Nawaz]&lt;br /&gt;
