The Institute became a member of the School of Public Health Association (1990) and Asia Pacific Consortium for Public Health (APACPH, 1990). So far the institute has produced more than 1400 graduates, and trained more than 3000 health workers of different categories through short courses. From 1999 the Institute has become affiliated to the Faculty of Medical and Social Sciences, [[bangabandhu sheikh mujib medical university]], Dhaka.
