After completing his Higher Primary Examination in this village, he studied for some time in Cox&amp;#039;;s Bazar Middle Bangala School. He then set out for Chittagong with hopes of bringing out a magazine and edited a literary magazine there called &amp;#039;&amp;#039;S&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;dhan&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039; in Baishakh 326 (1919) of the Bangla calendar. For some time, [[abdul karim sahityavisharad]] was deputy editor of the magazine. It lasted for four years and published works of [[rabindranath tagore]], [[kazi nazrul islam]] and other famous writers. &lt;br /&gt;

Rashid edited the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Moslem Jagat &amp;#039;&amp;#039;(Muslim World), published from Kolkata from 16 Shraban 1329 (1922) of the Bangla calendar and was arrested for an editorial headlined &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Samay th&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;kite s&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;bdh&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;n, bujhe chala British&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (Beware, British, while there is time, watch your steps). He published another literary magazine called &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Raktasetu&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (Bridge of Blood) in 1926, but it did not last for long. He published several books such as &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Chattagr&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;m&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;i&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; Bh&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;asa&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;tattva&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (1946), &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Chattagr&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;mer Bhasatattva&amp;#039;&amp;#039; etc on linguistic, religious and cultural features of the dialect of Chittagong. The novels he wrote include &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Upendranandin&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;i&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; &amp;#039;&amp;#039;(Daughter of Upendra, 1919), &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Jarin&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (1926), &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Pra&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;n&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;ay-Prad&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;i&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;p&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (Light of love)&amp;#039;&amp;#039; &amp;#039;&amp;#039;and&amp;#039;&amp;#039; Nurunneh&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;r&amp;#039;&amp;#039; &amp;#039;&amp;#039;O Meherunnes&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;; his poetical works are &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Rostam Sohr&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;b&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (1916), &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Yabanbadh K&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;bya&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (Killing of the Greek, 1944) and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Pakistan Bijay Kabya &amp;#039;&amp;#039;(1948); and he brought out an almanac called &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Moslem Jagat Pa&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;v&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;jik&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;a&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (1938).&lt;br /&gt;

An active politician, Rashid was secretary to the Chakoria Thana Muslim League in 1938 and a vice-president of Cox&amp;#039;;s Bazar Sub-division Muslim League. In addition, he chaired the Kakara Union Board for a long time. He made a fortune by patenting a medicine called &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Begum Khosh&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. He also established a [[madrasah]] at Kakara, a village guard society, a social welfare society etc. He died on 26 March 1950 in his native village.
