Chattal Dharmamandali Sabha
Chattal Dharmamandali Sabha educational and religious organisation established in Chittagong in the first decade of the 20th century for the cultivation of sanskrit in East Bengal and for the overall development of orthodox Hinduism. rajanikanta sahityacharya (1869-1929), founder of the Chittagong Sanskrit College, was its prime organiser and secretary. Most teachers of tols and chatuspathis of the adjacent districts of Chittagong were associated with the organisation. Poet nabinchandra sen was one of its principal patrons. The departure of Sanskrit scholars after partition in 1947 brought the organisation to a close. [Rabindra Nath Sarker]
