Eczema

Eczema one type of skin disease. The skin inflammation is due to allergic or hypersensitive type of reaction with rash and blisters causing itching and discharge. Thick and leathery skin may result from chronic inflammation, itching and irritation. It may be also dry type. In Bangladesh like the children usually suffer from eczema but about half of them get rid of it by about 18 months of their age. In adult the disease is usually prolong and recurrent. In family history the correlation of hay fever, Bronchial asthma, Psoriasis and other allergic disorders may be revealed.

Neuro dermatitis with ulcer due to repeated itching and irritation is a form of eczema which may occur in mental stress. The selection of drugs to treat eczema depends on its type and presenting condition. [Mohammad Shahidullah]
