Raymangal River
Raymangal River the Ichamati-Kalindi-Raymangal is the same river known under different names at different places. It flows through the western part of Satkhira district as the kalindi, further south after entering the sundarbans it is named as the Raymangal and debouches into the bay of bengal. The mouth of the river is like a funnel at the estuary. A steamer service during the British period used to ply on the river from calcutta to other riverports of Bangladesh via barisal. The Raymangal is a tide-influenced river and its water is saline. [Sultana Nasrin Baby]
